It was always intended as a very intimate ritualistic form of 18th century parlour activity, an elaborate meal was prepared for perhaps seven guests, with small electronically operated characters presented between courses to aid digestion and invigorate intellect. The artist has been developing a series of complex characters in the form of 24 individual sculptures over a period of time. Each character has a built-in electronic circuit that is activated by the artist, the characters performing once, and then 'dying', reverting to sculptural objects. This publication forms biographic cards which describe a miniature world made up of these fictional characters that are derived from different historical periods.<br>Each of the 24 cards represents a different sculpture.
